It’s time for another journal entry. I know it’s not what most people think of as great content, but aren’t we all suckers for this kind of thing? We all want to know how we stack up compared to others, no matter how many keeping up with the Jones’ posts we read.
My mission has not changed. I wanted to change my life for the better and I wanted to do it by creating multiple income streams. I wanted to prove that no matter how poor you are, you can be the master of your own financial destiny.
After a few crappy months, I’m starting to work my way out. The doo-doo luck has been on the decline for a few weeks.
I recently came in second place with the Hoth’s Halloween contest. I’m going to use the prize to get some content written for wfh office. With what’s left, I’m probably going to buy some links.
For those of you who aren’t aware of the Hoth and what they do, they’re a digital marketing firm who started off as link-building experts. They have since evolved into offering blogging content and now offer video content.
Also, they’re a great group to work for. They have, hands down, the best management team I’ve ever dealt with. I honestly have no gripes about the company at all.
On top of that, they recently rolled out a monthly bonus program. Being that this is the closest thing I have to a “day job”, I’m not going to go into details, as they’re aware of my blog and WAPH is what got me the job.
However, I will say how I achieved the bonus. I write and edit for the company. The bonus structure for editors is based on acceptance rate by clients as opposed to how much editing we actually do. And guess who had the highest acceptance rate in October?
It took life slowing down a bit and some good luck to remind me that I’ve got it made. My life is slowly reaching the ideal. At least, what is ideal for me. I never wanted to be a millionaire. I just wanna be comfortable and keep money stashed for a pleasant retirement.
Thanks to the Beetus, I’m getting healthier ahead of schedule and planning on living a long and healthy life.
While the freelancing life is great, it won’t get me there by itself.
So let’s talk passive income, shall we?
This is my affiliate site. It’s an Amazon store. I just finished it up a couple of weeks ago.

It has not made any sales thus far. My expectations are pretty low but affiliate marketing is something I wanted to try…just not on WAPH.
As mentioned above, my winnings for the Halloween costume contest are going to go to improving this site. If anyone wants to help me out, feel free to mention it on your own blog. I’m also accepting guest posts and if you’d like a free link back to your site and a byline, then please go here.
Big shout out to David for Zero Day Finance for helping me out with some speed issues I was having.
My current goal is to make some sales so I’m not booted out of Amazon’s affiliate program. I would like to earn $50-100 a month from this site eventually. If I can get to that point, I’ll have proof that affiliate marketing does indeed work and I can make a few more sites.
Let’s move on to endeavors actually making me some cash, shall we?
Passive income for October 2017
Cash Back Credit Card – Currently using the Discover It card. I highly recommend this card. Contact me privately for a referral link or you can visit the blog post that convinced me to try it, written by America’s blogging sweatheart, David at Zero Day Finance. Got my usually $20ish bucks in cash back from this source.
Patreon – I received another $1 this month, bringing the total to $8.
Acorns – Up about $8 here. Check out my Acorns review and if you wanna give it a try, I have a referral link. Just pm me privately or hmu on da Twitter.

Ads – I no longer place ads in the post. There is one in the sidebar and one at the end of the post. This continues to make me under $1 a month.
Work bonus. Yay!
Total not including bonus – Almost $50. I’ll take it!
Traffic for this blog is down. By quite a bit, honestly.
I don’t care.
I write WAPH to inspire and help those who are like me. People who don’t have money and want to improve their situation. If people don’t want to read it, that’s ok.
This is my journey. I’m telling the story and the story isn’t anywhere close to being finished.
I think, at the very least, that I’m entertaining. So for everyone who reads this and gets a chuckle, thank you for reading. If you’ve been inspired to get yourself out of a rut, you’re welcome. And I’ll see you guys next week.
